River Woodworks
Mission Statement
Respect for the material
Whether it is wood or some metal component in a project, whether it is tile or slate, even plywoods and plastic laminate. These materials all come from the environment around us and if it is our intention to do something to them other than what nature had in store for them, we owe it to our environment, both inside and out, to treat these materials properly.
Respect for the design
As well as respecting intentions of the designer him or herself, this includes respecting the period or style the piece represents, and goes further to respect the spirit of the design. Many design aspects of a finished product must be dealt with as the piece is being shaped or put together. Ultimately we never look for the quick solution, but for the right solution.
Respect for the client
The client has an idea what the finished product should look like and how it should fit into it's surroundings. I try to work with the client to understand what they envision as a finished product. Choices of woods, stains, moulding or any aspect that may not be covered by a particular design are made at this point.
What's Inside
The Belief Results in Beauty
This philosophy ensures a beautiful, high quality piece that will be passed down to children and grandchildren; it is a philosophy that should be evident simply by looking at the finished piece. It is a philosophy that ensures peace of mind to anyone considering purchasing one of my pieces or placing a commission.
